Adding a Product #
This document describes the process of adding a new product to a shop on the [dephoro] Marketplace. Do note, once you add an item, be sure to edit it and finish filling out the product information. Adding a product is just the first step. To add a new product to your store, simply navigate to the “Products” tab on your Merchant Dashboard. At the top right of the Products screen, you will see a button that reads “Add New Product”. Click that button!
After clicking the “Add New Product” button, a window will pop up allowing you to enter the initial set of information for the product. Do note, this is only an initial set of information used to set up a product in our database. To fully add a product, with descriptions and SEO data, you will need to “Edit” the product after it has been added. Don’t worry, though, as this is all done from the same place and the process is covered in the Editing A Product article!
The “Add New Product” pop-up window allows you to set the product images, the product name, non-discounted and discounted prices (the discounted price option allows you to set a date range for the discount), the product category, the product tags, and a product description. If your product is anything other than a “Simple Product”, then change the product type via the “Edit” settings described in the section below. This pop-up is just a very basic entry creation tool, so make it a point to edit all of your products after adding them. We want your products to succeed on the Marketplace and proper descriptions, keywording, and the like will impact that outcome.
